Description
This collection consists of manuscripts and screenplays from American writer Maximilian "Max" Shulman (1919-1988). Schulman's most famous character in both his movies and novels was Dobie Gillis.
Background
Maximilian "Max" Shulman (1919-1988) was an American writer. He wrote for films and television shows including "The Affaird of Dobie Gillis" (1953), "Half a Hero" (1953), "The Tender Trap" (1955), "Rally 'Round the Flag, Boys!" (1958), "Daddy-O!" (1961), "The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis," "House Calls" (1978), and "Help Wated: Male" (1982). Shulman also wrote several novels in the 1940s and 1950s, mainly based on humor.
