The Vincent Diaries were donated to The San Francisco Public Library by Elizabeth Stone in 2002.
Biographical note
Vincent was a gay man who died of AIDS in 1995. He was a diarist who chronicled his day-to-day life in San Francisco.
Scope and Contents
The collection documents Vincent's life starting in 1984 and includes his years living with AIDS. The diaries were the basis
for Elizabeth Stone's
A Boy I Once Knew (Chapel Hill, NC: Algonquin Books, 2002) which recounts how she was affected by the bequest of these diaries from her former
high school student.
