Biographical / Historical

Clyde E. Elliott (1885-1959) was an American film director, producer, and writer best known for directing Bring 'Em Back Alive (1932), starring Frank Buck. Elliott's films were primarily action-adventure movies shot on location where the hero would face off with a wild animal. From 1945 to 1950 Elliott served as the editor of the Santa Ana Independent, a weekly newspaper published from 1935 to 1966.

Scope and Contents

This collection consists of story treatments, production materials, clippings, correspondence, scrapbooks, and photographs from American motion picture director, producer, and writer Clyde E. Elliott (1885-1959). Materials include production materials for Bring 'Em Back Alive (1932), Devil Tiger (1934), and Booloo (1938), correspondence, travel photos, press clippings, and the Manuscript for Elliott's unpublished book Rambling Thoughts of a World Rover.
