Contains files relating to the formation, administration, and activities of the San Francisco Social Psychiatry Seminars (SFSPS), officially established by Berne in 1962. The organization published the Transactional Analysis Bulletin from 1962-1964. The majority of SFSPS meetings were recorded on open-reel audio tape (content currently restricted); see Series VII. Audio-Visual Material. SFSPS evolved into the International Transactional Analysis Association in 1964. Materials created under both organizational names are present in this series.

The organization took over publication of The Transactional Analysis Bulletin (under the new title Transactional Analysis Journal from 1971) from its predecessor organization, the San Francisco Social Psychiatry Seminars (SFSPS). Materials created under both organizational names are present in this series.
