Description
The Jay T. Last Collection of Horticulture Prints and Ephemera contains approximately 1,425 printed items from 1840 to 1933,
with the
majority of material dating from 1865 to 1920. The collection consists of advertising prints and ephemera promoting businesses
whose products and services relate to growing flowers, fruits, and vegetables. This includes the tools,
equipment, and supplies used for planting and cultivating gardens, orchards, and lawns for commercial and noncommercial purposes
by
nurseries, florists, fruit growers, and home gardeners. Seed companies are most prominently represented.
Restrictions
The Huntington Library does not require that researchers request permission to quote from or publish images of this material,
nor does it charge fees for such activities.
The responsibility for identifying the copyright holder, if there is one, and obtaining necessary permissions rests with the
researcher.
