    Abstract: Victor Sedillo documented the early LA punk scene of the late 1970s, with an emphasis on San Pedro, Wilmington, and Long Beach. Sedillo's photographs have been exhibited at LA Harbor College, Cameravision Gallery, and Angels Gate Cultural Center. Additionally, his photographs have been published in numerous publications, including the book, A Wailing of a Town: "An Oral History of Early San Pedro Punk and More," 1977-1985 by Craig Ibarra. The Victor Sedillo photographs range in date from 1979-1980 and include black and white images of performances, bands, fans, and venues across Los Angeles.

    Victor Sedillo documented the early LA punk scene of the late 1970s, with an emphasis on San Pedro, Wilmington, and Long Beach. Sedillo's photographs have been exhibited at LA Harbor College, Cameravision Gallery, and Angels Gate Cultural Center. Additionally, his photographs have been published in numerous publications, including the book, A Wailing of a Town: "An Oral History of Early San Pedro Punk and More," 1977-1985   by Craig Ibarra.

    Scope and Contents

    The Victor Sedillo photographs range in date from 1979-1980 and include mounted and unmounted black and white images of punk rock performances, bands, fans, and venues across Los Angeles. Images of bands and performers include the following: The Screamers, Tomata du Plenty, Saccharine Trust, IUD, Zoo Barry, Laurie Monitor, Pat Delaney, Bee People, The Mutants, Alleycats, Dianne Chai, The Gears, Axxel G. Reese, Tito Larriva, Plugz, Nervous Gender, Joe Baiza, Mike Watt, D. Boon, The Minutemen, Sue Tissue, Suburban Lawns, Jane Drano (aka Jane Wiedlin), UXA, Dee Dee Detroit, The Weirdos, The Stains, X, Sue Zoo, Vomit Girl, and Nancy Sekizawa (aka Atomic Nancy). Sedillo photographed performances at the following venues: Hong Kong Cafe, Jett's Cafe, Madame Wong's, The Roxy, The Nugget, The Whiskey, The Fleetwood, Hollywood Palladium, and the Atomic Cafe.
