Deadlee (Joseph Lee) is an openly gay rapper and hip hop artist, performance artist, and actor of Mexican American and African
American descent. He released the albums "7 Deadlee Sins" in 2002 and "Assault With a Deadlee Weapon" in 2006, employing controversial
lyrics dealing with violence, race, class, and sexuality. He has done live theater such as "Street Cred 101: The Hip Hopera,"
been involved with tours such as the Hip Hop Homo Tour, and worked as an actor in numerous productions. In 2013, he married
his partner and changed his last name to LeMar, a confluence of Lee and Martinez, his partner's last name.
The collection is open to researchers. There are no access restrictions.
