Abstract: This collection includes correspondence, reports, contracts, plans, specifications, bonds, and other documents relating to
the early twentieth century development and construction of portions of Newport Beach, California. A significant volume of
the material in the collection relates to the city’s street system and includes documents related to improvements, paving,
closures, and openings. In addition to numerous bonds and contracts filed with the City of Newport Beach for work varying
from plumbing to garbage pick-up, the collection also contains items related to the construction of bulkheads and the dredging
of Newport Harbor.
