    Biographical / Historical

    Günther Anders (1902-1992) was a German-Austrian Jewish émigré, essayist, philosophical anthropologist, and journalist.
    Erna Budzislawski was a Jewish émigré, secretary to playwright Bertolt Brecht and was the sister-in-law of journalist Hermann Budzislawski.

    Scope and Contents

    Collection consists of correspondence in German of German-Austrian philosopher Günther Anders with Erna Budzislawski, an emigre living in Southern California. Materials include a of Anders' book Die Antiquiertheir des Menschen (1956 ) with an inscription from Anders to Budzislawski, along with letters from Anders to Budzislawski from the 1950s, and press clippings about Anders' work from the 1970s and 1980s.
