Background
El Andar magazine was a North American publication (based in Santa Cruz, California)
started as a print magazine in 1989, that published Latino written and visual journalism. It
has visual appeal, humor, photo essays, investigative journalism, poetry and short fiction,
and satirical editorial cartoons. It transitioned to online-only publishing in 2000 until
shutting down around 2010. The editorial and publishing team included Julia Reynolds, Jorge
Chino, and Rachel Barron.
