    Abstract: The collection on Democracy Wall consists of eight pamphlets, three pages of handwritten notes, and newspaper clippings relating to Democracy Wall in Beijing and the final years of the Cultural Revolution. All of the material in this collection was found in a folder labeled "Pamphlets from Democracy Wall 1978-9" and "Democracy Wall Stuff." Brett Sheehan was the immediate source of this acquisition, but the person who originally compiled the material in this collection is unknown. The pamphlets in the collection were published in China and written in Chinese. The newspaper clippings were published in the United States and written in English. The three pages of notes are handwritten in English and titled "Chen Jo-hsi talk at UC Berkeley 1978, May." One of the pamphlets is titled in both Chinese and English: "The Spring of Peking" -- with a publication note written on January 8, 1979 and attributed to 《北京之春》编辑部.
