Scope and Contents
This series contains correspondence from Maj. Henry A. Kennedy, Sr., USA to his parents Austin and Annie Kennedy and to his
sister Elna. Kennedy describes his day to day actions as part of an artillery unit training to go overseas to fight in the
Pacific Theater. He talks about going on dates with girls, going to clubs, and speaks about how nice the residents around
his military camps are to him. In his letter dated July 3rd 1945, Kennedy references being admitted to the hospital for a
case of acute asthma. In August, after being admitted to the hospital a second time with another acute attack, the medical
board of officers ordered Kennedy sent back to the United States.
