Charles Hazelwood Shannon, British lithographer and painter, worked in close collaboration with Charles Ricketts. One of Shannon's
best-known oil paintings is the portrait of the writer Mary Frances Borthwick Dowdall, wife of Harold Chaloner Dowdall, judge
and mayor of Liverpool.
The collection is arranged chronologically. It is housed in one box.
Letters from Charles Hazelwood Shannon to Harold Chaloner Dowdall, his mother, and wife, Mary Frances Borthwick Dowdall, concerning
the arrangements for portrait sittings and exhibitions of their portraits. The collection includes two pencil sketches.
