Abstract: Marilyn Murphy was a lesbian activist and author. She had a long-running column, "Lesbian Logic," in
Lesbian News in the 1980s and a selection of her columns appeared in the 1991 book,
Are You Girls Traveling Alone? She was an active member of the organization Old Lesbians Organizing for Change (OLOC) and the Califia Community along with
Diane F. Germain. The collection consists of several of Murphy's published and unpublished works, including a copy of her
book, as well as correspondence, ephemera, and audiovisual materials.

The
June L. Mazer Lesbian Archive at UCLA is an outreach and collection-building partnership between the
June L. Mazer Lesbian Archives , the
UCLA Center for the Study of Women (CSW) , and the
UCLA Library . These collections expand the pool of primary source materials available to researchers and to the community at large. This
partnership was initiated by CSW and is funded by the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) to inventory, organize,
preserve, and digitize more than eighty Mazer collections pertaining to lesbian and feminist activism and writings.

Marilyn Murphy was a lesbian activist and author. She had a long-running column, "Lesbian Logic," in
Lesbian News in the 1980s and a selection of her columns appeared in the 1991 book,
Are You Girls Traveling Alone? She was an active member of the organization Old Lesbians Organizing for Change (OLOC) and the Califia Community along with
Diane F. Germain. Murphy died in 2004 and is survived by her partner, Irene Weiss, co-founder of the Califia Community.
The collection consists of several of Murphy's published and unpublished works, including a copy of her book
Are You Girls Traveling Alone?, as well as correspondence, ephemera, and audiovisual materials.
