Biographical/Historical note
Louis A. Mazzetti was born in Los Angeles in 1915. He studied at the Art Center College of Design in the 1930s and worked
for Lockheed Aircraft during WWII. Mazzetti worked briefly for Kem Weber before starting his own firm. He designed residences
in the Santa Barbara and Montecito area, and a cottage for the El Encanto Hotel in 1959. He retired in the 1980s and died
in 2001. Mazzetti was also known as an artist and watercolorist.
Scope and Contents note
The collection contains drawings of alterations and additions to a store building at 3328 State Street in Santa Barbara. One
set of plans from 1958-1959 show alterations and additions to the building to house Fritz's Farm & Garden Store; it contains
7 drawings of floor plan, elevations, details, and specifications for alterations and additions to the building. Additional
blueprints from 1948 for alterations to Roesers Feed Store are by William Hansen; these 8 drawings include floor plans, elevations,
details, and sections for alterations and an addition of a storage shed. A second set of plans from 1970 show alterations
and additions for a medical office; the 6 drawings include floor plans, plot plan, sections, elevations, and exterior rendering
of the front of the building.
