Description
One of five children, Hugh Michael Kaptur, AIA was born on May 22, 1931 in Detroit, Michigan. Kaptur is an American architect whose practice is primarily in California's Coachella Valley, especially in the Palm Springs area. Kaptur has designed residential homes, apartment complexes, civic buildings, including two of Palm Springs' fire stations, commercial office buildings, and hotels. The majority of his work is in the Mid-Century modern style. In total, his prolific portfolio includes more than 200 residences and 40-plus commercial projects primarily in the Palm Springs area.
