The relationship between Eloise and the photographs is unclear. Her husband, Robert Theodore Schmidt, served in the Air Force
during the Second World War. Eloise had three sons: Robert Jr., Steven, and David Ryan, who preceded her in death. It is unknown
if any of her three sons served in the Vietnam War.
