Background
Ygnacio, (1808-1880), born in Jalisco, Mexico, was the son of Antonio Seferino del Valle (1788-1841), who came to California
in the Spanish army in 1819. Ygnacio engaged in the cattle and wine businesses and held at various local and state offices
in California. His son, Reginaldo Francisco (1854-1938), was also active in state politics.
