SWOPSI course proposals regarding feminism, including reading lists, section outlines,

along with dates, times, and locations of first meetings with workshop leaders for Winter
1979-1980.
Biographical / Historical
The SWOPSI workshops were first organized by two graduate students and one undergraduate at
Stanford University in fall 1969. There was a desire present among the student body to study
issues of local and national concern directly – specifically in order to consider what can
be done about them. The subjects of these courses ranged from air pollution in the San
Francisco Bay Area to international arms control and disarmament, and almost all of them
were offered for full academic credit.
