Biography/Administrative History
Robert Perry Dunbar was born in Fremont, Ohio in 1880. He attended the University of Chicago. Throughout his career, he
travelled extensively by rail. He was an auditor for the Missouri, Oklahoma & Gulf Railway, 1906-1908; a travelling accountant,
1909; an auditor for the Deep Creek Railroad, 1913 and 1917-1918; secretary and auditor, Nevada-California-Oregon Railway,
1914-1915; auditor, Western Pacific Railroad, 1918-1921; auditor, Tidewater Southern Railway, 1920; general auditor, Los Angeles
Steamship Company, 1921-1936; and general auditor, Matson Navigation Company, 1936. Mr. Dunbar died in 1947 in Jamesburg,
California.
