Mujeres Unidas por Justicia, Educación y Revolución (M.U.J.E.R.) was founded as "Mujeres en Cambio" in the late 1970s as an
independent group funded by the Education Opportunity Program. The initial purpose of the organization was to ease the transition
into the University for young Chicana women.
