Written from notes taken each day over our 5 month pilgrimage." There is a photo of Bushnell in the front of the journal and it is signed "Rev D. Edwin Bushnell, Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Sonoma, Cal, July 28th, 1864. Though sometimes difficult to read, this handwritten daily description of the toil, travail and challenges of the trip West by Wagon Trail is richly descriptive of the country crossed and contains many interesting stories of life on the trail.
