Description
Correspondence, meeting minutes, clippings, and legal papers, 1949-1990, from Henry S. Glazier. Glazier served as chairman of the Jewish Big Brothers of the Jewish Board of Guardians, and as director of the Big Brothers of America in the 1950s. The bulk of the materials document his involvement in BBA and his appeal in the 1970s to change its policy on banning gay men from membership.
Background
Henry S. Glazier, Jr., graduated from the Phillips Exeter Academy in Exeter, New Hampshire, in 1928, and later attended the Collegiate School in New York City, New York. During World War II, he served in the United States Air Force.
