    Scope and Content

    This collection was created by photographer Colonel Hugh Mitchell Junior, USAF Retired. Colonel Mitchell was a commercial aerial photographer active from the late 1960s through the late 1980s. Active primarily in the Southwestern United States, the collection consists of 5 boxes of 35mm color slides and several envelopes of miscellaneous materials

    Arrangement

    Boxes were of different form factors, and originally numbered 2, 3, 4, 5, and 9.
    Materials rehoused as follows:
    Box 1 (Clamshell): Binder 2, page 7 through Binder 3, page 17; Box 2 (Clamshell): Box 3, page 18 through Box 9, shelf 1, page 20; Box 3 (Clamshell): Box 9, shelf 1, page 21 through Box 9, shelf 2, page 23; Box 4 (Clamshell): Box 9, shelf 2, page 24 through Box 10, page 10.

    Related collections include the Southern California aerial photography collection (UC Santa Barbara Special Research Collections, Mss 309) which contains photographic prints of aerial photographs taken of coastal regions of Southern Calfiornia, between San Diego and Santa Barbara.
