Abstract: Southern Pacific Company Harbor Master daily journals (SAFR 16448, HDC 164) are photocopies of six volumes for the ferry AMADOR as she traversed the route between Vallejo Junction, South Vallejo and North Vallejo.The journals were kept by Captain Charles R. Heath and record such events as the Democratic Convention of 1900, men overboard and the burning down of the Hotel Rodeo. He alos noted whether the trains were on time, reasons for delays, injuries on shipboard and unusual incidents. There are also copies of company memos to captains. The collection is available for research use without restriction.
