Biography/Administrative History
This line was built in the 1906-1911 time period and was considered a monumental engineering achievement. The first train
ran to Key West in January 1912. The train photos could be shots of the first passenger train. The line was virtually destroyed
by a hurricane in 1935 and the bridges and viaducts were used for highway construction.
