The Socialist Union of America, also called American Socialist Union, or Socialist Union was an organization that split from the Socialist Workers Party in 1953 as an attempt to start a new Marxist left. The publication of the "American Socialist" started in 1954, and ended when the Socialist Union disbanded in 1959.
