Scope and Content
Set of 16 mounted cabinet cards, with series title, date (1899) and photographer's imprint (Waterman) stamped on mount, depicting
scenes in and around Havana, Cuba, just after the Spanish-American War, and presumably created for and sold to American soldiers
serving in the new colony. Landmarks include the Castillo Morro from Havana Bay, the Gran Hotel Inglaterra, church facades,
native dwellings, city residences, and haciendas. People include United States soldiers, bread sellers, men with ox-drawn
carts, city dwellers, and peasant families.
