    Scope and Contents

Interviews conducted by author Bruce Perry with leaders and associates of the Arizona Farm Workers Union (formerly known as the Mariposa County Organizing Project) as well as the United Farmworkers' Jerry Cohen and others. These recordings were ostensibly research for a biography of Cesar Chavez. In 2014, Miriam Pawel's book Crusades of Cesar Chavez: A Biography was published using some material from Perry (but apparently nothing from these tapes). It is not known how Stanford History professor Ana Minian came to possess the tapes.
