    Biography/Administrative History

    Precision medicine is a new approach to medical care, characterized by utilizing data from the human genome and the molecular basis of disease, environmental factors, and patient electronic medical records. This model aims to make medical care predictive, preventative and precise.

    Scope and Content of Collection

    Includes Keith Yamamoto's presentation at the Executive Vice Chancellor & Provost Direct Reports meeting on March 18, 2013, as well as a document that he put together which provides more detail on the various components of Precision Medicine at UCSF. Also includes a transcript and DVD recording of the "Health Care Leaders Push for 'Precision Medicine,'" KQED Forum program aired on April 30, 2013.
