Abstract: The club and event flyers collection contains promotional handbills, flyers, and small posters for events that took place
in San Francisco, as well as some other bay area locations. The bulk of the material was collected between 2000-2003 with
some items from the 1980s and 1990s.

Biography/Administrative History
William G. (Willie) Walker (February 11, 1949-September 29, 2004) was an archivist and collector in the San Francisco Bay
Area. He was one of the founders of the GLBT Historical Society, and worked as an archivist for many of the bay area institutions.
He was an avid collector of many kinds of material.
Scope and Content of Collection
The club and event flyers collection contains promotional handbills, flyers, and small posters for events that took place
in San Francisco, as well as some other bay area locations. The bulk of the material was collected between 2000-2003 with
some items from the 1980s and 1990s. Events include live performances as well as DJ hosted dance parties. There are flyers
for straight, gay, lesbian, punk, trans, fetish, pride, holiday, and other events.
Arrangement: The flyers are arranged by size and then by club name, or if lacking a name or a single club name, by subject.
Within each series, folders are arranged alphabetically by name of venue. For venues known by address, the folders are arranged
in ascending numerical order without regard to street name. The majority of the collection is formats smaller than 8-1/2 x
11-inches. There are 3 long flat boxes with materials between 8-1/2 x 11-inches and 11 x 17-inches.
