    A folder containing many letters, deeds, and reciepts for Antonio Galindo and his extended family, dating from 1843-1893. Variety of typed and handwritten documents, most legal documents are typed in English while letters are handwritten in Spanish (difficult to read).     Biographical/Historical note

    Antonio Galindo has many reciepts recording the purchase of land in California and the purchase of beasts of burden. He is perhaps the son of Cristomo Galindo, at San Jose in 1841. Cristomo married Jacoba Bernal, and had 5 children, one named Antonio, born in 1826. Cristomo also had a daughter, Ana Maria, who married J.A. Forbes. (Bancroft. California Pioneer Register, p.154.)
