Description
Loose black-and-white and color photographs and seven photo albums documenting the personal life of Orvis Bryant (1927-1997), a gay interior designer who lived in San Francisco from the 1940s through the 1980s and in Palm Desert, California after his retirement. The photos date from the 1940s to the 1990s and include portraits of Bryant; pairs and groups of men socializing in house parties and at the beach; and photos labeled as depicting Bryant’s boyfriends. Jim Duggins, Bryant’s friend and the collection donor, identified a number of people depicted in the photographs. Contact the Archivist for more information.
