A collection of 82 items from 1882 to 1915, it consists of letters, documents, deeds, bills, legal papers, and one map related to William Henry Shimmin and his involvement in business and mining matters. The contents of the collection chiefly deal with mining claims in Nevada, mainly at Goldfield, and with the Jamestown Townsite Company.

Biographical / historical:

William Henry Shimmin (active 1885-1916) was a mining prospector in Goldfield, Nevada, who helped develop the mining camp of Jamestown, Nevada, about twenty miles southeast of Goldfield.
