- This collection consists of documents from the 299th Infantry Division of the German Wehrmacht. The 299th Infantry Division was formed in February 1940 as part of the 8th Wave. Its fought primarily in France from 1940 to 1941 and then moved to the Eastern Front, where it was destroyed in July 1944 and was disbanded April 1945. The collections includes birthday congratulations to and from the First Batallion and its members and an invitation to a Christmas party adressed to an officer. It also includes publications such as histories of the 528th Infantry Regiment and a military publication intended for the soldiers' entertainment.

The 299th Infantry Division was formed in February 1940 as part of the 8th Wave. It was composed of the 528th, 529th and 530th Infantry Regiments, the 299th Artillery Regiment, the 299th Anti-tank Battalion, the 299th Engineering Battalion, the 299th Reconnaissance Battalion, the 299th Signals Battalion, and the 299th Support Units. The 299th Infantry Division fought primarily in France from 1940 to 1941 and then moved to the Eastern Front, where it was destroyed in July 1944. It was reformed in September 1944 and was destroyed in March 1945. The 299th Infantry Division was disbanded April 1945. From April 1940 to November 1942 the Division was led by General of the Artillery Willi Moser.
