Gardens--California
Los Angeles (Calif.)
Note:
Eckbo designed about half of the gardens in this subdivision in Laurel Canyon, including his own, the ALCOA Forecast Garden.
While not a cooperative community experiment in the classic sense, many of Eckbo's clients in Wonderland Park had come to
this project after the disappointment of the failed Community Homes development in Reseda. The dramatic topography and winding
streets of this bohemian Los Angeles enclave showcase to this day Eckbo's master plan for the tree planting in the entire
area. Among the most notable gardens designed by Eckbo in Wonderland Park are the Goldin Residence, the Staude Residence,
and the Stubbs Residence.
