Autobiographies and Reminiscences of California Pioneers, p. 174-178, Vol. 2. This is a typed transcript, bound into a volume, of the member's autobiographical reminiscence created as an institutional record for the Society of California Pioneers. This reminiscence provides an account of Captain Tyler's many accomplishments in his field of mining and mechanical engineering. Included is a list of some of the ships he worked to restore. Tyler provides a list of some of the passengers he traveled with on the steamer "Panama" on its first voyage to California.
