Japanese Americans -- Evacuation and relocation, 1942-1945
Description:
In this two-page handwritten letter, Kanow thanks Bird for his "very kind and considerate attention" when they met during
the previous summer. Morgan Odell (professor of philosophy at Occidental) advised Kanow to finish the semester, but after
an incident in which his brother was "prevented" from boarding a streetcar, Kanow has decided to withdraw from school. He
is disappointed he will not be able to become an ordained minister. [Letter is transcribed, click on page&text. This letter
was also transcribed by staff at Bird's office. See Dbase #029.]
