Title:

Destruction of the wholesale district. [verso:] By this time the wooden houses south of Market Street were ablaze, as were several of the piers on the water front, and one fire-proof building had caught through its windows, broken by the earthquake, and was a sea of flame inside. Then the horrifying cry was raised that there was no water. -- Leslie's Weekly.
