Full title:At the busy intersection of Troost and 47th Streets in Kansas City, Missouri, Dr. Roger Matoi has recently opened
offices of the Paramount Optical Company in partnership with a Caucasian friend. Dr. Matoi, a graduate of the University of
California, was practicing optometry in Oakland, California, at the time of evacuation. He received his Missouri state license
in April 1944 and is employed by an optical concern in the daytime. At his private offices which are open from 6 to 9 in the
evening, Dr. Matoi makes eye examinations and writes the prescriptions, while his Caucasian partner grinds the lenses and
fits the glasses. The offices have only been opened a few months, and February was the best month thus far. The two partners
said that if they can double their February business, and they fully expect to, the investment will be worthwhile.<lb/> Photographer:
