Zong Rinpoche

Additional Note

Born 1905, Zong.hgo, Kham, Tibet, a tulku. Died 1984, India. A member of the Gelugpa lineage, he studied at Ganden Monastery, Lhasa; and received the title Geshe, in 1929. He went to India, 1959, and was made principal of the Institute of Higher Tibetan Studies, Varanesi. Also called Song Rinpoche; Lobsang Tsöndrö Tupten Gyaltsen. Visited Los Angeles, August-December, 1983.
