Abstract:

Album contains clippings and 34 black and white photographs documenting the construction of the Zihuatanejo Railroad and showing views from along a section of the route from Tacambaro to Uruapan. Images include scenic and street views of Tacambaro; railroad officials and construction workers; irrigation canal construction; Lake Patzcuaro and islands: Isla Pacanda, including school and schoolchildren on the island, and Morelos monument on Isla Janitzio; plant nurseries in Uruapan; construction of the railroad; scenic views of Zirimicuaro; Tzararacua waterfalls. Photographs all have stamp on verso for photographer Rafael Garcia, Tacubaya D.F.
