Erwin Winterhalder: born 1879 in Zürich, Switzerland; studied at École des Beaux Arts in Paris, also in Italy, Munich and
Zürich; arrived in San Francisco 1913; produced works for the Panama-Pacific International Exposition of 1915; worked commercially
through the 1930s; died in San Jose, Calif. in 1968.
