Born in Fort Hamilton, New York, 1895. Son of General John D. Wisser. Earned degree in Mineral Engineering from U.C. Berkeley in 1917. Served two years as lieutenant in U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in France and Germany during Second World War, after which he continuted mining studies at Berkeley with Andrew C. Lawson, G.D. Louderback and C.D. Hulin. Worked chiefly in Mexico and later in the Philippines. In 1947 became professor of Mineral Exploration the the Department of Mineral Technology at Berkeley. Late in life relocated to Tucson, Arizona and became visiting scholar at the University of Arizona. Died in 1970.
