West Side Irrigation District.
Irrigation -- California -- San Joaquin Valley
Note:
The West Side Irrigation District was originally established by an act of the California State Legislature on April 3, 1876,
then established again by another act of the Legislature on March 26, 1878. The district's Board of Commissioners had last
met on November 7, 1877; its minutes do not explain what had happened in the interim. The district extended north from Tulare
Lake through Tulare, Fresno, Merced, Stanislaus, Alameda, San Joaquin, and Contra Costa Counties, generally occupying the
San Joaquin Valley west of the San Joaquin River.
