Abstract:

Holograph letter written and signed by Alex Wilkin, Commanding Colonel of the 9th Minnesota Infantry, from Head Quarters 9th Minnesota Volunteers in St. Peter, [Minnesota] to Second Auditor Treasury in Washington, D. C. about transmitting a "A Return of Deceased Soldiers" of his regiment for the second quarter of the year 1863. A note on the back reads: "9 Minnesota Inf., Alexander Wilkin, Colonel. Killed in action at Tupelo, Mississippi, July 14, 1864".
