Abstract:
Photograph albums chiefly documenting Sarah Mildred Wright's years in Berkeley, Calif. while a student at the University of
California (where she received her M.A. in 1921). Photographs also depict her activities in the years shortly preceding and
following her stay in Berkeley, including leisure outings with friends and family in the Midwestern United States; travels
across the United States and Western Canada; and miscellaneous domestic scenes. Particular subjects depicted include the U.C.
Berkeley campus; the Berkeley fire of 1923 (inaccurately dated herein as 1924); San Francisco and the greater San Francisco
Bay Area; Mount Tamalpais; Yosemite Valley; and various locations in Illinois (Evanston, Chicago, Indiana Dunes), Ohio (Xenia,
Akron), Wisconsin (Lake Geneva), Massachusetts (Boston, Plymouth), and British Columbia. Sarah Midred Wright is depicted throughout
the albums.
