Correspondence; contracts and bids; programs and advertisements; and a small amount of photographs, dating from 1923 to 1957,
and belonging to Robert Edward "Bob" Rooker, rodeo promoter and performer in the northwestern United States. Material documents
Rooker's interactions with performers, promoters, local officials, stock salespeople, costumers, photographers, and announcers
and rodeo associations such as the Rodeo Cowboy Association, the Northwest Ranch Cowboy Association, and the International
Rodeo Association. Includes correspondence with or about fifteen different female rodeo performers including Tad Lucas, Pro
Rodeo Hall of Famer; Mary Faith McLean, teenage trick rider; and May Raymond Boss, trick rider and charter member of the Stuntwomen's
Association. Papers also document the Hellgate Rodeo Company of Missoula, a rodeo promotion company Rooker started with Harold
L. "Bud" Lake in 1947. Some business correspondence shows Rooker's wife, Adrienne (Thompson) Rooker, as Secretary of Hellgate
Rodeo Company. Includes a small amount of Rooker's personal papers, including some military papers documenting his time as
a sergeant at Camp Ruston, Louisiana, a World War II prisoner of war camp.
