Abstract:
Two photo albums with approximately 100 black and white photographs recording the travel of Americans in the Philippines from
1922 to 1924. The travelers sailed on the S.S. Pompey from Jolo to Cebu and on to Zamboanga. Family names used in the albums
are Wine, Leach, Ritchie, and Dickerson. The first album begins with a photograph dated May 22, 1922. Photographs include
areas of Mt. Talipao, Parang, Maimbung, Jolo, Mt. Daho, Mt. Bud Dajo, lake near Cadayuan, Pantar, Fort Pilar, Mindanao, Taluksangay,
and San Ramon penal farm. Subjects include local schools, churches and mosques, Moro natives and villages, hotel and club
buildings, agricultural and industrial scenes.
