Two snapshot photograph albums, both likely compiled by Makato "Mike" Nakano of the Fresno Athletic Club, a team of standout
Japanese American baseball players from California (the "Nisei All-Stars") during their 1927 goodwill tour of Hawaii, Japan,
Korea, and Manchuria. With an emphasis on their travels in Japan, the team is depicted largely during their leisure time spent
sightseeing and socializing throughout the country. Some images depict team members posing in uniform, sometimes with teams
from Japan; a few documenting their games against teams associated with Japan's intercollegiate "Big Six" league. All of the
Club's players are identified, most noteworthy among them being Kenichi Zenimura, who was also the team's founder, captain
and manager, and is considered the most important early proponent of Japanese American baseball. Also includes many images
of points of interest in Hawaii. A small number of images taken in Seoul and Manchuria are also included. Nakano is depicted
throughout both albums.
